Goals of RA treatment
Because rheumatoid arthritis (RA) gets worse as it progresses, it's important to treat the disease early to prevent joint damage.
It may help to work with your doctor to develop your own set of goals for treatment. You know your body best, so your goals can be very personal. Maybe they include feeling less pain and fatigue. Or perhaps they are more specific — being able to resume an activity you haven't been able to do. Make sure to keep your doctor updated on how you're doing with your goals.
